Kevin manages the whole operation and keeps things ticking along. He has been with The Lazy Gourmet for seven years, and works with Susan to implement the company’s vision and oversee management. He is also responsible for bidding, financials and buying decisions. As project manager of multiple simultaneous events, Kevin brings his passion for food, art, family and volunteering to everything he does.

Director of Sales and Events
Shannon oversees the sales team and executes hundreds of events a year, ranging from 6 to 15,000 people. She loves being part of some of the most interesting events in the city, with a team of passionate, creative people. (She also loves getting paid to eat really good food.) Shannon has an inimitable sense of humour – you can see her witty yet educational segments on CTV Morning Live and Noon hour.
Jennifer Fryer, C.H.N.
Manager, Corporate Sales
Jennifer has a passion for events and specializes in corporate and weddings, with over nine years of experience in the food, beverage and hospitality industry. She’s the one to talk to when you want a sales quote for a job. Jennifer helps clients find the services most suitable for their needs, and is particularly skilled at creating custom menus and finding the perfect venue. Jennifer is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist and is currently completing a Nutritional Consulting Course.

SFU Catering Manager
With seven years of experience in the catering business, Renee is a skilled Catering Manager whose duties include recruiting and training staff, including leading and motivating employees to provide exceptional client service. She manages all three buildings at SFU and a staff of over 30. She also manages the food and beverage provisions for events, ensures health and safety regulations, and monitors The Lazy Gourmet’s high-quality standards.
Catering Service Manager, Special Projects
Originally from Mainland China, Merrick brings both PR and restaurant experience to his work with The Lazy Gourmet. He loves being able to showcase his industry knowledge and skills, and helps manage and train our staff. He has a Diploma in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition, and has even studied fashion merchandising at Blanche Macdonald. Suffice it to say, Merrick has a passion for food, event planning and fashion.
Corporate and Special Event Planner
Jill is expert at working with clients from conception to completion of their event, including menu development, proposal creation, invoicing and follow-up. With a Certificate in Event Marketing from BCIT, Jill has been immersed in the catering world for five years. She’s a lover of the outdoors and anything to do with sun, water and snow. (No surprise considering she’s a Kelowna girl.)
A self-proclaimed “master of all things nerdy, geeky and crafty,” Gee is our first point of contact/star assistant/right-hand person…In short, she helps out with anything and everything. And then some. She has a Business Administration Diploma from VCC, so she’s also smart as a whip.
Operations & Culinary
Eleven years ago, Jen started working with The Lazy Gourmet, and she now runs the entire catering department. She’s a rock star. With 19 years of hospitality experience, she manages a team of 16 staff, including regular and on-call employees. She’s responsible for daily scheduling, logistics and duties for drivers and the operations team, as well as overseeing catering equipment and inventory, and ensuring quality and continuity throughout all events.
Jenny has the enviable position of creating all our delicious food. With 18 years of catering experience, she’s responsible for the execution of kitchen production. With a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and a Diploma in Food Service Management and Red Seal, Jenny loves testing and creating new menu items. She manages over 30 kitchen staff, and supervises event chefs to produce food for 10 to 15,000 guests. She also oversees The Lazy Gourmet’s Food Sustainability program.
Human Resources Manager
Peter is our people guy. He’s been with The Lazy Gourmet for over 21 years, and is experienced in all departments of the company. With a love of people and psychology, he’s responsible for scheduling, hiring and development of all event staff, and orchestrating teams that work well together. He has worked in the hospitality industry all his life, starting as a chef’s apprenticeship at age 20, and loves the challenges and constant changes in catering.
Jason makes sure our finances run smoothly. He’s been with The Lazy Gourmet for five years, and is responsible for overseeing all financial reporting and its integration into annual, quarterly and day-to-day operations. As a self-proclaimed food and beverage junkie, Jason loves working with a charismatic team who share his love of life. Jason attended the University of Toronto, and has a Bachelor in Commerce, with a major in Accounting and another in Finance.
As Accounting Assistant, Garret works with people in every department at The Lazy Gourmet, and loves being able to participate in all aspects of the business. A PACE Level CGA student with a Diploma in Accounting, he helps manage payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financials. Garret also, unsurprisingly, enjoys food and food-related activities.
