1. The Big Decisions
With party planning, we recommend starting with the big decisions then working your way down to the small details. The first things to consider are:
What type of party will it be?
Are you celebrating a special occasion or holiday? Perhaps you’d like to think of a theme to centre everything on. Some themes that we’ve seen done very well are White Parties, Desert, Elegant Forest, and London Calling. Once you have a general theme in mind, it’s surprisingly easy to plan out your venue, decor, dress code and menu!
What is the date and time?
The day of the week, time of day and season will influence whether you plan a brunch or cocktail party and whether it is better to host indoors or outdoors.
Who’s invited?
Create your invitation list so you know how many people to accommodate. This can make a big difference in whether you host the party at home or in a restaurant, or need to rent a larger venue.

2. Putting
it Together
Now that you have figured out some of the big-picture details of your party, you can start bringing in planning partners, making bookings and placing orders!
Venue
The setting of your event can make or break the experience. If you haven’t had experience booking venues before, it can quickly get overwhelming to consider things like seated/standing capacity, floor plan, audio/visual, catering, licenses and insurance! To help make this process easier, we recommend a few tools on our website:
Venue Directory: This page lists the majority of venues in Greater Vancouver by capacity so you can quickly browse through and link to venues that work well for your size of group.
Featured Venues: This page has a collection of some of our favourite event venues to work with in the city. Clicking on each one will give you some more information about the capacities of each and what types of events are best held there.
We’d recommend choosing a venue that is easily accessible by your group, fits your group size well and works with the theme of your event.
Food and Beverage
Some venues may require you to order from their in-house catering but most are flexible to allow outside food and beverage. This is where we shine and would be more than happy to help! We have menus that suit any type of event, cuisine and budget and can usually accommodate any request you have.
Menus: Take a look through our expansive collection of menus. We always recommend our seasonal menu with our newest creations but our classic menus are available any time of year. All of our menus include dietary notes and most items can be modified for vegetarian/vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free or nut-free needs!
Drink: To accompany your food, we also offer an expansive bar program that includes beer, wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic options. We can set up a fully staffed bar for your event or simply serve as needed – and all of our staff are Food Safe and Serving it Right certified so you don’t have to worry about liability issues.
