It’s the dawning of a new year. A time full of potential, possibilities, and plans to be made for celebrations of all sorts.

If you’re looking ahead and tentatively laying the foundation for a wedding, reunion or conference in 2022, our team at The Lazy Gourmet has the inside track on Vancouver’s best venues. From expansively large to intimately small, we’ve worked them all.

During our more than three decades as an award-winning catering services company, we’ve planned and executed thousands of events in some of the city’s best spaces and can help pair your event with an ideal space that will perfectly capture the mood you’re going for.

Here’s a small sampling of some of our preferred venue partners:

THE KENT

534 Cambie St.

An uniquely intimate space that offers three different floors for a wide array of bespoke celebrations, The Kent boasts a bottom level with a 2,000-sq.-ft. children’s art studio, playroom and climbing wall, a main floor with a warm and welcoming dining room, state-of-the-art commercial kitchen, original artwork and plenty of space to dance, while the top floor offers a 3,000-sq.-ft sprawl of Italian furniture, open kitchen and micro bar, and set-the-mood lighting.

ROCKY MOUNTAINEER STATION

1755 Cottrell St at Terminal Ave

An expansive yet comfortable space in the False Creek area where turn-of-the-century charm meets contemporary design, the Rocky Mountaineer Station offers more than 12,000 square feet ideal for large weddings, corporate events and conferences. Sunlight streams through the full-length glass walls, flooding the exposed timber, brick interior and 35-foot vaulted ceilings with airy warmth for daytime events, or guests can light up the night by kicking up their heels at epic parties with plenty of room to dance, eat, entertain and more.

ROBERT H. LEE ALUMNI CENTRE

6163 University Blvd.

Located in a prime location in the heart of Point Grey’s picturesque University of British Columbia campus, the Robert H. Lee Alumni Centre marries modern design and light-filled spaces that include the Jack Poole Hall, Wong Trainor Welcome Centre and additional boardrooms, classrooms and meeting rooms that can be used individually or in unison for a truly inspiring setting for a wide variety of private events, gala dinners, meetings or corporate retreats.

THE PERMANENT

330 W Pender St

The Permanent was erected more than a century ago and is named for the BC Permanent & Loan Company, which first opened its doors on the building in 1907. The space has since been completely restored but features original neoclassical design elements such as the stained-glass overhead atrium, bronze chandeliers and tile mosaics. It’s a one-of-a-kind heritage space perfect for weddings, corporate cocktail and gala events, trade shows, conferences, fundraisers, private parties and more.
