Spring has sprung and summer is hot on its heels. So too is warmer weather, longer nights, and plenty of lazy days best spent on picnic blankets at parks and beaches basking in the two best seasons the West Coast has to offer.

In keeping with those themes, we’re proud to debut an all-new signature menu of food and drink for 2024 at The Lazy Gourmet that pairs perfectly with the spirit of springing forward!

Our new menu features a mouth-watering array of Hot, Cold and Classic Appetizers, hearty and healthy Salads, gourmet Burgers and Handhelds, Hot Lunch Packages, crowd-pleasing Platters, decadent Desserts and creative Cocktails and zero-proof libations that all showcase our culinary team’s core philosophy of capturing the West Coast’s freshest flavours in season on plate and palate.

Our fully customizable menus are ideal for small or large events at homes, offices and venues across Vancouver and feature a wide range of vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options.

The new Appetizer lineup includes an array of hot, cold and classic appetizers with highlights such as Sweet and Spicy Salmon with yuzu aioli and orange jalapeño compote; Grilled Peach Antipasto Skewers with bresaola and lemon-marinated bocconcini and red pepper jelly; Balsamic-Marinated Striploin Wrapped Frites with garlic aioli; Tomato Madeleines with Parmesan aioli and chives; Cinnamon-Ribbed Albacore Tuna on lotus chips with seasame brittle; and Mediterranean Cucumber Cups with Castelvetrano relish, artichoke and balsamic pearls; among many others.

We also make the most of BBQ season via a lineup of handhelds that includes Classic Angus, Impossible, Grilled Herb Chicken and Salmon Fillet burgers and gourmet add-ons (bacon, brie, Havarti, cheddar and goat cheese), sautéed sides like mushrooms, peppers, spinach, onions and pickled jalapeños, and a complement of hand-made sauces (chipotle or Sriracha mayo, tartar and BBQ) to add those much-needed final touches and flourishes.

A cornucopia of fresh salads with leafy greens, crunchy veggies, ancient grains and gourmet dressings abound, with new additions such as Asian Slaw with Crispy Chow Mein Noodles and Shredded Nori and a creamy roasted garlic dressing; Romaine and Farro (Sriracha lime crispy chickpeas, grape tomatoes, feta, garlic-sumac apple cider vinaigrette); Colin’s Potato (fingerling potatoes, charred broccolini, celery, capers, fresh dill, creamy Dijon dressing); Grilled Vegetable Tabbouleh with pumpkin seeds; Heirloom Tomato (Za’atar, dressing, onions), and more.

Our party perfect lineup of Platters expands this year with new additions that include Mezze (Macedonian feta, tabbouleh, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, lemons, Muhammara, pita, dates, apricots, figs); Prosciutto and Burrata (garlic-roasted tomatoes, Castelvetrano olives, whole roasted garlic, charcoal bread); Whipped Honey and Herb Ricotta Dip (raw and roasted carrots, radishes, grilled asparagus, beets, zucchini, peppers, flatbread); and classic, crowd-pleasing favourites such as Cheese and Charcuterie, Vegan Antipasto, West Coast Seafood and Sushi Maki.

The main event? We’ve got that covered thanks to new Entrée selections such as Hallmark Farms Chicken with Spicy Guava Glaze (garlic smashed potatoes, roasted peppers, arugula); Kalbi-Style Flat Iron Steak (kimchi corn onion relish, vegetable pancake, sesame-roasted broccolini; and Pan-Seared Cod with Lemon Sake sauce served with coconut rice and edamame succotash.

Our culinary team also puts a cherry on the spring and summer sundae with a new lineup of decadent dessert creations that include Lemon Tiramisu Cups, Pineapple Coconut Slices (macadamia nut joconde layered with pineapple compote & coconut mousse, topped with dehydrated pineapple); Blackberry Cardamom Eclairs with white chocolate ganache; Aperol Spritz Cake Bites (Prosecco-poached rhubarb, candied orange); and a show-stopping DIY Angel Food Cake Board complemented by raspberry sauce, lemon curd, whipped cream, fresh berries, meringue kisses, mixed nuts and chocolate bark.

The Lazy Gourmet’s cocktails experts also raise the bar with a creative new lineup of libations that includes the Perfect Paloma (tequila, splash of lime, fresh grapefruit juice, soda, grapefruit wedge); Eternal Sunshine (bourbon, mint Amaro, raw sugar, lemon juice, egg white, mint sprig); Lavender Skies (BC Empress gin, lavender honey syrup, homestyle lemonade, dehydrated lime wedge); and a Sparkling White Negroni (gin or vodka, Campari, St-Germain, pear juice, bubbles, rosemary spear).

Our team of mixologists can also concoct custom cocktails as well as zero-proof beverages guaranteed to stir the senses and shake things up at any event such as our new non-alcoholic Spicy Pineapple Margarita.
